North Carolina Campus Engagement is a collaborative network of colleges and universities committed to:

  • Educating students for civic and social responsibility
  • Partnering with communities for positive change
  • Strengthening democracy

The NC Campus Engagement state office fosters connections between campuses, shares best practice information and resources, recognizes outstanding work, and champions civic and community engagement in higher education.

Announcing the 2025 PACE Conference and Presidents Forum Speakers!

We are excited to welcome three leading scholar-practitioners, in the higher education community and civic engagement field, to speak at the PACE Conference and Presidents Forum on February 12, 2025.  Both events will focus on recommitting to a place-based and anchor institution mission and we look forward to hearing their insights from decades of work at institutions nationwide.

The 2024 North Carolina Civic Health Index (NCCHI) 

NCCE partnered with the National Conference on Citizenship and a group of North Carolina education partners to produce a new North Carolina Civic Health Index.  The Index provides an in-depth analysis of North Carolina’s civic health and recommendations to strengthen it. This is the 4th report on civic health in North Carolina since 2003.

Nominate a 2025-26 NC Civic Impact Fellow

Empower an outstanding civic-minded student to design and lead a project to strengthen campus civic life. Fellows are nominated by a campus staff/faculty mentor and receive a signed Letter of Support from their institution’s President/Chancellor. Nominations are due by December 1, 2024.

26th Annual PACE Conference
Request for Proposals (EXTENDED)

Submit a proposal for PACE on February 12, 2025.  Standard sessions are invited in four tracks: capacity-building, pedagogy, research & theory, and community partnership development & sustainability. The 2025 special track is “Facilitating Civic and Democratic Engagement.” Deadline: November 21
