Teaching Public Scholarship: Lessons from Two Practitioner-Scholars
September 28 (3:30-5:00 p.m.)
Two scholars who dedicated their careers to public teaching and scholarship will discuss benefits, challenges, and recommendations for early-career scholars or scholars who are beginning this journey.

NCCE Engaged Scholar Writing Retreat
October 27 (9-3:30 p.m.)
Join us in Durham for the 7th retreat. Registration deadline: October 18 or until full. Gather with other community-engaged scholars across North Carolina to set aside time for writing, in community.

Student Dialogue Ambassadors Prepared to Lead
On January 13 & 14, NCCE trained the 1st cohort of NC Student Dialogue Ambassadors. The Ambassadors and mentors engaged in a day and a half of immersive training in dialogue and civil discourse.
NCCE Celebrates Student Civic Leaders
On November 18, NCCE hosted the 2022 “Engagement Matters” Student Awards Ceremony featuring the CISA, Barnhill, and Marshall Scholarship recipients.
VISTA Spotlight Series: Laura Manigrasso & Alamance Community College
This month’s spotlight is on Laura Manigrasso. Laura is one of our NC Hunger Corps VISTAs serving at Alamance Community College (ACC). With a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Syracuse University and a wealth of experience teaching/leading others, she has been a wonderful addition to our VISTA cohort.
